Obituary for Andy "Juniper" Robert Balint

Andy "Juniper" Robert Balint, 52, passed away on August 01, 2016 in Lake Havasu City, AZ. He was born on December 15, 1963 in Richmond, CA. His father was from Bank, Hungary.

He was a bright, energetic little boy who loved animals at a very young age. At the age of 7 he could tell you what kind of bird it was by the flight pattern exhibited in the air. He enjoyed reading nature books all his life. Andy caught his first fish at the age of 4 and he became an expert at fishing and, later in life, hunting.

He learned welding in a school in Southern California and enjoyed that experience. Andy lived in Coos Bay for many years, where he loved to camp, fish and hunt with his first wife, Loretta. He helped raise his two step-daughters from Loretta. After his divorce, he married his second wife, Mel, two years later and helped raise her two children as well.

Andy raised and trained Labrador dogs. After his second divorce, he moved to Telluride, CO and was there many years before coming to Lake Havasu. Andy never received aid and worked odd jobs, including landscaping. He was a simple man who lived in a cabin in the woods for many years and was very in touch with animals and wildlife of all varieties.

He studied and practiced Indian traditions and religious beliefs as well as Christianity. Andy lived a simple life and when he died, he owned a sleeping bag, backpack and a fishing pole. He will be deeply missed and always loved by his family and friends that he met along the way.

Andy is survived by his mother, Dea Birdsong; grandmother, P, Dodie Hamilton; sister, Marika Balint;niece, Jerika Balint and great-niece, Aysha Crowder.
